SAN DIEGO, CA, April 26, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Design Institute of San Diego has been named one of the top interior design schools in the country by Schools.com. DI offers a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree and is accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA) and recently received a six-year accreditation by the Western Association Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC).
“It is exciting to be named as a top interior design program in the nation by Schools.com, especially because Design Institute of San Diego aspires to lead the field in design education, preparing innovative, environmentally and socially-responsible citizens who positively impact the world,” said Design Institute of San Diego CEO Margot Doucette. “Recognition such as this confirms that the dedication our faculty and staff make to provide a quality interior design education, with our students as our primary focus, is working.”
Schools.com used numbers published by the National Council for Education Statistics (NCES) to develop data profiles for 250 schools nationwide. Schools had to meet the criteria of offering an undergraduate degree (associate’s or bachelor’s) and must have awarded at least one degree or certificate in interior design in the most recent years of data available from Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) in order to qualify to be included in the rankings. From there, schools received ratings based on in-state undergraduate tuition & fees, graduation rate, accessibility, institutional spending, student-to-faculty ratio and more.
Design Institute of San Diego (DI) has been educating award-winning interior designers for more than 40 years. The CIDA-accredited Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design degree program focuses on developing outstanding creative and technical skills. WSCUC regional institutional accreditation assures the educational community and general public that DI has met high standards of quality and effectiveness. DI’s 35-member faculty of top working professionals teach students to think and design critically, globally and sustainably. DI alumni include many of the region’s most prominent interior designers. The Institute’s Classroom Without Walls initiative gives students hands-on professional experience while serving the needs of nonprofit community service groups throughout San Diego.
